gold coast - discoveries - Pt 1 redone.

one thing about having trips one right after the other is that i dont have time to blog about them and the first one gets overwhelmed by the second and it just seems like the first one is too far into the past to even bother about but I MUST BLOG ABOUT GOLD COAST!

anyway, as mentioned before, on the first day at Gold Coast, zeke and i basically just strolled around and tried to discover Gold Coast as much as we could.

but of course, first things first.

get from the airport to the backpackers hotel.

since we were on a holiday with a budget, we opted for taking a bus from there to 'Backpackers in Paradise'.

on the bus, there was this local guy sitting in front of us so i do what i do best..

(well, one of the things i do best anyway..)

i chat the poor guy to death and a half drilling him about the 'must see places' and where we could get discounted tickets for the theme parks and all that sort the whole way the bus driver was driving and trust me, it was a long way to drive.

anyway, we finally arrived at Backpackers in Paradise and were gonna check in but THEY MESSED UP OUR ROOM.

we got two single beds instead of getting our much wanted double bed apartment.

sigh.

but alls good i guess because we managed to sort it out and we only had to stay at the single bedded apartment for two nights before we were allowed to swap over.

anyway, what would we have expected?

we opted for a budget holiday and choose a budget place to stay which was right smack in the middle of Surfers Paradise.

and Surfers Paradise is deff not only paradise for Surfers.

after checking in and dumping our stuff in the apartment, we headed out for some yummy things to eat (i dont remember what we ate already) and walked about a little bit.

we headed to the beach a little bit and the sand was so FINE and lovely and the water was cool and sigh..

i want to be back on holidays again.

anyway, after splashing about a little bit and lying in the sun like the two beach bums we pretend to be, we got sucked into buying two tickets to the 'Wicked Club Crawl' for Wednesday night.

We headed back to the apartment and fell right asleep.

a much deserved break, i think especially after a night flight - or rather an ungodly hour-ed flight -

we woke up just in time for dinner and headed off to the central part of Surfers Paradise and had 'Seafood Mania' for dinner.

i swear, anyone who goes there has to eat at Seafood Mania.

the Scallops were yummy.. i cant remember which scallop dish i had already but its the white buttery one and not the chilli one.

omigod. ITWASSOGOODITHOUGHTTHATIHADANORGASM.

zeke agrees with me that the food was yummy-licious and thats why we went back another four times the whole time we were there but thats another story all together.

After dinner, a nice couple-y stroll took place - hey, its our holiday and we can be romantic and mushy if we wanted to - along 'downtown SP' and the beach.

The next day was pretty much the same.

We explored SP..

..discovered F.'s Tattoo parlour and decided (sort of) that it was there that we would get our tattoo.. eventually.

anyway, we ended up buying tickets for the themeparks in 'Central Shopping Centre' at an information desk.

you used to be able to bargain the prices but now, its all sort of a 'not negotiable at all' zone.

we got tickets for Dreamworld+WhiteWaterWorld and the Fun Pass.

the Fun Pass is basically a one day access for all WB Movie World, Seaworld and Wet n Wild Waterworld over a 5 day span and costs only ~$150.

a little bit of a steal when each ticket for the parts cost about ~$60 to ~$70 each.

it being rainy and stuff, we couldnt really do that much so we ended up going to Infinity

Infinity is basically some kind of walk through maze thing that uses alot of effects to make it seem really futuristics - read: lots of mirrors and lights and stuff which makes it hard for you to find the door out to the next room which contains even MORE lights and mirrors -all the 'unique' special effects are kinda cool to make it seem a little unreal. The one thing that sort of freaked me out is this 'thing' that closes up on you which leads to the next room.

i think it works with some kind of pressure pad thing. when you step on it, the 'exit' closes up on you. which is really freaky when you see the exit and suddenly the exit is squishing you into the soft cushions of the wall.

eep! they also had dangling furry things that reminded me alot of hairy spider legs and it being dark and all. ugh.

yuck!

anyway, after that, we walked along the docks a little

my apparent zen tree

got tired after that and headed back to the apartment for some sleepy time before waking up and heading out for the Wicked thing.

i loved how they made everyone wear stickers 'somewhere noticeable' so that people wont hit on someone attached and stuff like that.

they had red stickers for the 'unavailables'. orange stickers for the 'hard to gets'. green stickers for the 'single and availables' and the blue stickers -my personal favorite- for 'horny'.

throughout the night i kept seeing men with heaps of blue stickers plastered over their shirts and .. it was sort of amusing.

free drinks from the clubs we went to and free entry can only keep zeke and i entertained for so long before we got bored and left..

for dinner at SEAFOOD MANIA again before heading back to an early night's rest.

whatever for, you ask.

easy.

dreamworld awaited us the next day.

why do people fear roller coasters when its basically perfectly safe?

my tattoo on the first day..can you see the bruising? eep. i swear, it looks more painful than it actually was after it was done.

day two.
the bruising basically *poofed* itself and if you're wondering why there's a sheen there.. its because i'd put bepanthen on it.

bepanthen being nappy rash cream.

HEY! THE TATTOOIST SAID TO PUT IT!

its on the care instructions!

anyway, i havent really taken any pictures of the tattoo since the second day but i can kinda talk you through the whole thing anyway :)

Day Three -

scabbing. and not the really horrible kind.

it was just a little annoying and a tad bit itchy but hey, tolerable.

the only annoying thing about the tattoo, for me anyway, was the position because sometimes when trying to wear the bra i'd accidentally rub against it and yeah..

Scabbing took a while to drop off - DO NOT PEEL THE SCABS EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT SEEM FUN TO PEEL LETTERED SCABS OFF YOURSELF.

and on Sunday - DAY SIX..

all my scab fell off and now it looks awesome possum and sexy.

maybe pictures tomorrow?

uni's started and i've got an 8am class tomorrow and i'm tired but cant sleep and i'd just spent most of the night travelling to boxhill and visiting jeanette who has just gotten her appendix removed and..

sigh, knowing me, i always find ways to add complications in my life and right now, its just stupidity that keeps me hurting the person i love.

why do people fear roller coasters when its basically perfectly safe?

sadsad

Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old.

He battled the disease for years until this May, when doctors gave the 8 year old boy only a few weeks to live.

The family decided to try and help him achieve most of his goals before he would pass. And one of those was to marry his school sweetheart, Elleanor Purgslove.

Reece's mother said "When we found out that we only had a few weeks with him we tried to do absolutely everything with him that we could. Him and Ellie had been 'special friends' for a couple of years but then they broke up. We said we'd have a pirate party, and Ellie came. She went to visit Reece a few times in hospital as well."

Then during a recent laser tag party, Reece "proposed" to his little friend.

After she accepted, their parents arranged a pretend wedding at Reece's home

The families went out to dinner in the mayor's limousine and organized the wedding with rings and even a fictional certificate.

The kids got married on July 4th. And Reece told his mom, "I can go now," after his wedding wish had been fulfilled.

His mom added, "He was so proud of her, and we were proud of them both."

The following day after the wedding, Reece died at home with his family.

During the funeral, the mourners followed a horse-draw hearse on foot.

His mom added, "Even on the Saturday that he died, he got out of bed and walked to the sofa. He always tried walking, right to the end, so we thought if he walked for us then we would walk for him."

awwwhhh :(

bimbotic lifestyles

living with long nails are not easy.

i guess i now understand why people with long nails are often perceived as a little bimbotic and useless.

with utterly long nails, i find writing a little hard.

typing, a little harder (if just feels like my nails are being pushed away from the nail bed every time i press the little keys)

holding and moving heavy objects?

lets just say, we're gonna have to treat their majesty, the nails with TLC and gentleness because God forbid, if one of them breaks and .. oh the horror!!
and the list of 'things that should be easy but i am now rendered useless' goes on!

anyway, leaving for the gold coast tomorrow armed with my new hand phone - the nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone which i shall bling when i get back.

yes pople, i bought myself a phone (finally) after using isaac's phone for ages and ages.
come on people. its so slim unlike its fat owner
ahhh.. cuteness~

i shall try to bling it when i get back and make it look all cute and sparkly and very much unlike me :)

ps. miss me while i'm away :p

i just got my nails done

and it uber hard to type :(

as a little 'let you laugh at me' here's a picture of me with glasses. my new glasses :)want to ask me how much they (the nails) cost?

they cost $2. bwahahhhahahahahhahahahahahahhahaa

yes, i bought one of those cheapo sets and then just filed them into shape and cut them to a more suitable length.

sigh.

i am so not used to having long nails.

and i have a new found respect to people who type fast with long nails.

juxtaposition

what do you think about when someone says 'holidays' to you?

for me, one of the main holiday thing to do is watch movies.

crazy amounts of them to 'catch up on those i've apparently missed'

a good old classic that i've remained virginal and very ignorant about.

i mean, come on! dont blame me!

the first movie came out in 1981 - waaaaaaay before i was even born so who was i to even bother about it?

i think you all may have a little ink-ling to what movie i'm taking about..

indiana jones.

yes, up till this week, i have been an indiana jones virgin.

before that i was an indiana jones virgin and isaac strapped me down and took advantage of little ol' innocent me and now i am pure no more

anywayyyyy, i watched all of the indiana jones within the last week - be proud of me all you indiana jones freaks fans!

also, Narnia- Prince Caspian was on the list

so true that prince caspian (Ben Barnes) is a little yummy. just a little (la) shan :p

along side with hancock.

one day later:

and this is the part where i get super depressed or whatever.

i stuffed up one of my 'core' subjects for my major in immunology.

now's my opportunity to maybe move to something where i'm 'more suited', perhaps?

isaac says i'm much more suited for media com, hell, more than one person has said it.

i dont know how i feel about that, i mean, i've wanted to do science since i was 12 and whats with this sudden (okay, perhaps not too sudden) change?

i dont know.. do you ever feel like you can just do better but when you are doing it, it IS the best you can do but you just dont seem to be able to do well in it?

well.. i feel that way.

maybe i just fit into a whole new genre of stupid.

sigh.

so do i plough on and keep possibly stuffing up or go back and start again with something i might just totally suck balls at?

do one more semester of science and we'll just take it from there..

i cant break it to my heart

lyrics

If it's ok I'll leave the bedlight on
And place your water glass where it belongs
And if it's alright
I'll lie awake at night
Pretending I am curled up at your side.

See I'm circling in these patterns
Living out of memories
I'm still a long way from accepting it
That there's just no you and me

But if I still believe you love me
Maybe I'll survive
So I tell myself you're coming home
Like you've done a million times.
And if its alright I'll still be loving you
Cause I cant break it to my heart

Is it just me
Did I commit a crime?
I won't believe that loving you
Is just a waste of time

Was it in my head
Leading into things you never said
Cause I still don't have the answers
To why we couldn't work it out
I want to think it's something that I did
So I can turn it back around.

But if I still believe you love me
Maybe I'll survive
So I tell myself you're coming home
Like you've done a million times.
And if it's alright I'll still be loving you
Cause I cant break it to my heart

And nothing will come between us
I want to convince myself we're perfect
In every single way
As long as I can keep the truth away
From my heart
Cause I can't break it to my heart

Cause I still don't have the answers
To why we couldn't work it out
I want to think it's something that I did
So I can turn it back around.

But if I still believe you love me
Maybe I'll survive
So I tell myself you're coming home
Like you've done a million times.
And if its alright I'll still be loving you

But if I still believe you love me
Maybe I'll survive
So I tell myself you're coming home
Like you've done a million times.
And if it's alright I'll still be loving you

And if it's alright I'll still be loving you
Cause I cant break it to my heart
I can't break it to my heart

no, isaac and i did not break up but this song is for all those people who've had their heart broken.. i know how hard it can be, dont we all?

so here's a little something to tell you you're not alone in wanting to hold on to those little habits you used to have with him/her..

when my first boyfriend dumped me, i secretly used to go to the classrooms we used to meet up in and just sit in a corner and tear to myself.

hey, it is extremely hard. it was.

the wounds i carried around for the longest time, isaac helped me heal.

maybe even the heartbreaks.

hey guys, sorry i've been so out of touch. i know it being the holidays and stuff i should actually be blogging more but hey, i'm out actually enjoying myself like some crazy girl.

okay, havent really done anything uber crazy - the only thing i've done that can be considered crazy is buying a $460 piece of artwork from Jay Walker (guys, go google him, i've mentioned him before and i cant be bothered to add a link) for isaac.

and no, the art piece isnt done, neither has it started its journey to gorgeousness but you guys will deff get a glimpse of it after zeke and i get back from gold coast and from skiing.

so there will be another bout of hiatus here (unless i get my grubby hands on internet while i'm away :) )

i might update again later tonight but for now.. MARIE DIGBY'S new song!!

tag

Instructions: Remove one question from those below, add in one of your own (personal), to make a total of 20. Tag 10 people in your list at the end of this post. Notify them.

1. At what age do you wish to be married?
sometime in my twenties.. around the 26th birthday mark, perhaps?

2. If you were to be stranded on a deserted island, who are the 3 blog buddies you'd take and why?
pfft. as if i would ever be on a deserted island. i can barely stand being somewhere without phoneline and internet! but lets indulge this question a little ittle bit..

i'd bring kalus - just because i miss him and it'll be fun to sing heaps of pop-ish songs and drive him insane
jess - coz she's crazy and fun and will probably rock it in some sexy ass bikini.
isaac - do i even need a reason for wanting him there?

but lets get reasonable. if i could 'take' three people to a 'deserted island' it probably wouldnt be deserted and i wouldnt even be going there in the first place.

3. Where is the place that you want to go the most?
i dont know where this place is but to me its paradise. its this tiny island off thailand and i dont even know which part or anything.. all i know is that its beautiful, that the way of life there is so simplistic (okay okay, not that simplistic, but simplistic enough) and that i want that to be one of the places i go to for my honeymoon. the wake up in a room facing the ocean, hell, on the ocean and having that whole side of that wall be glass. with curtains, of course, because it being the honey moon and all, i'll be doing the naughty dance ;)

4. If you can have 1 dream to come true, what would it be?
more money to go with my reality.

5. Do you believe you can survive without money?
minimal amounts of money.. maybe.

6. What are you afraid to lose the most?
him. the loved ones.

7. If you win $1 million, what would you do?
save some and buy zeke and i a nice holiday somewhere.. SHOP!!.. spoil the people who have spoilt me..

8. If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
i guess these kind of things really depend on situation..

9. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
-funny -forgiving (hell, i was a bitch to her in primary school) -sweet

10. What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?
i see -kindness, a gentle side, honesty, the ability to stand up for himself, funny, forgiving, patience and so much more -in zeke

11. Which type of person do you hate the most?
i dont hate anyone but i dislike people who are too ambitious that it doesnt matter who they hurt to get there, people who hold on to grudges waaaaaaaaaaay past its due date, superficial people..

12. If you are given the chance to go back to the past and make a difference, will you?
maybe.. but i dont think i really would. it made me who i am today. it brought me here. all my mistakes, all my stupid things led me up to this point.

13. If you are the (mayor) in a city/town, what would you possibly change ?
i'd lower transportation fee, not in the sense of an 'overall' kind of thing but in a way that students pay concession regardless of them being overseas students. i'd lower uni fees (also in a sense for overseas students because HECS students pay so much less!)

14. What do you think is the most important thing in your life?
the loved ones

15. Are you a shopaholic or not?
not really.. i know how to save.. especially since earning my own money :) i spend on holidays :)

16. If you have a chance, which part of your character you would like to change?
i'd want more patience..

17. Who is the person that you can share all your problems with?
isaac..

18. What's your weakest point?
according to isaac, "(i'm) not ruthless enough"

19. What's the thing that you're most proud of?
right now? that i kicked butt at wii fit!

20. Would you step in front of a bullet to save someone you dont even know?

i tag:

YOU. bah!
