i want gel nails. a new bag. a size 6 body.

at least i can get two out of the three.

funny how this tragedy can bring my mom and i closer.

Gold Coast 2 - Dreamworld

after two days of exploring Surfer's Paradise and staying in our little apartment (shown below) we finally headed out for some serious theme park fun

Shortly after arriving, zeke and i ran to the giant drop (okay, okay, i had to be persuaded and even then i walked away from it and then suddenly turned around and didnt think about it and just boarded the mothafcker)

hey, come on. cut me some slack.

it IS the world's tallest and fastest freefall ride (imagine free falling 393 feet) at 135 km per hours with ~ 40 seconds wait time at the tip to contemplate and wonder when you're actually gonna die.

anyway, after that shaky ride (i swear, my knees wouldnt stay upright after that) zeke (being the thoughtful little thing he is) decided that we should go for an easy sweet ride after that.

what better than the log ride.

a pretty long waiting time which was spent taking pictures and camwhoring like the sad little asian tourists we were

fone would think that this ride is reasonably safe. IT IS NOT.

i swear to you.

isaac was holding my hand while we were going down and as our log hit the bottom, isaac (unknowingly) dragged my arm down and knocked it hard against the log and i swear i lost feeling in it for a good half hour.

i thought it was broken!

and i was kinda annoyed at him but zeke said sorry and i sulked around a little (girl ma, must sulk la!) and the pampered me a little and all was well again.

i know, i am such an evil girlfriend.

anyway, we then headed over to tigerland but managed to see some other cute things on the way

before we saw cute little cubs before watching the tiger show (which there are too many pictures for so if you want to see most of them go to facebook)

then we were suppose to go on the Tower of Terror (i went on it when i was 12) and for the whole day i was wanting to go on it and telling zeke that he has to give it a try and all that crap but we were hungry so we headed off to get some food and water into our roaring and growling bellies.

anyway, started to line up for Tower of Terror and the stupid rattling of the walls scared the bejebus out of it.

anyway, mid way of the wait i really needed to pee.

come boarding the ride.. i REALLY REALLY needed to pee.

and i was scared shitless so those two were DEFF not a good combination.

so after they fastened my seatbelts..

I FLIPPED OUT MAJORLY AND ASKED THEM TO STOP THE RIDE AND I JUMPED OUT AND RAN AWAY.

yes.

that was embarassing as hell.

after waiting half an hour and sitting next to a little kid who couldnt have been more than 12, i flipped out and ran off to take the lift down.

(with zeke running behind me even though i told him to stay)

okay. i didnt ran away. i was TOO scared to even run.

anyway, the MOST embarassing part was that i even had to wait for the elevators to come and by the time it did, the ride was over for everyone else who were gushing about it and this nice old man said, "its okay" or sumthing along those lines that sounded so much better than the groans and moans and dirty and more superior looks i got from everyone else.

anyway, we then headed off to walk around Dreamworld

and nearly got on Cyclone (but the line was too long - it WASNT because of me flipping out and needing to pee) but then headed off to WhiteWaterWorld for some wet fun.

ew, not that way you pervert!

until the wet post..

kisses~

hit me

whoa.

for the first time in my entire life, i have a day off from school/uni/work.

and it was a morning to remember. that is, if you can even remember anything when you're asleep and not dreaming and i'mgoingwayofftrack.

but the point is, i spent the morning sleeping in to make up for yesterday's 8am lecture.

freaking eight in the morning is BLASPHEMOUS

blasphemous but whatever. i'm no longer enrolled in that subject.

its annoying that the university doesnt let me know that i cant do that subject (after last semester's stuff up) until after i've gone for two of its lectures.

fccckkkkkkkkkk!

so now the double major shall be pathology + psychology.

ahh. pray for me that i dont go completely and utterly psychotic.

anyway, i was actually planning on doing a lazy day at home but now that i've had to change microbes:infection and responses for cognitive psychology, i've gotta head out for a dman 4pm lecture.

two friggin hours of sitting down and listening to some old drone croak about rubbish and a half.

meh.

oh yes, please hit me with a hammer on my head.

gold coast - discoveries - Pt 1 redone.

one thing about having trips one right after the other is that i dont have time to blog about them and the first one gets overwhelmed by the second and it just seems like the first one is too far into the past to even bother about but I MUST BLOG ABOUT GOLD COAST!

anyway, as mentioned before, on the first day at Gold Coast, zeke and i basically just strolled around and tried to discover Gold Coast as much as we could.

but of course, first things first.

get from the airport to the backpackers hotel.

since we were on a holiday with a budget, we opted for taking a bus from there to 'Backpackers in Paradise'.

on the bus, there was this local guy sitting in front of us so i do what i do best..

(well, one of the things i do best anyway..)

i chat the poor guy to death and a half drilling him about the 'must see places' and where we could get discounted tickets for the theme parks and all that sort the whole way the bus driver was driving and trust me, it was a long way to drive.

anyway, we finally arrived at Backpackers in Paradise and were gonna check in but THEY MESSED UP OUR ROOM.

we got two single beds instead of getting our much wanted double bed apartment.

sigh.

but alls good i guess because we managed to sort it out and we only had to stay at the single bedded apartment for two nights before we were allowed to swap over.

anyway, what would we have expected?

we opted for a budget holiday and choose a budget place to stay which was right smack in the middle of Surfers Paradise.

and Surfers Paradise is deff not only paradise for Surfers.

after checking in and dumping our stuff in the apartment, we headed out for some yummy things to eat (i dont remember what we ate already) and walked about a little bit.

we headed to the beach a little bit and the sand was so FINE and lovely and the water was cool and sigh..

i want to be back on holidays again.

anyway, after splashing about a little bit and lying in the sun like the two beach bums we pretend to be, we got sucked into buying two tickets to the 'Wicked Club Crawl' for Wednesday night.

We headed back to the apartment and fell right asleep.

a much deserved break, i think especially after a night flight - or rather an ungodly hour-ed flight -

we woke up just in time for dinner and headed off to the central part of Surfers Paradise and had 'Seafood Mania' for dinner.

i swear, anyone who goes there has to eat at Seafood Mania.

the Scallops were yummy.. i cant remember which scallop dish i had already but its the white buttery one and not the chilli one.

omigod. ITWASSOGOODITHOUGHTTHATIHADANORGASM.

zeke agrees with me that the food was yummy-licious and thats why we went back another four times the whole time we were there but thats another story all together.

After dinner, a nice couple-y stroll took place - hey, its our holiday and we can be romantic and mushy if we wanted to - along 'downtown SP' and the beach.

The next day was pretty much the same.

We explored SP..

..discovered F.'s Tattoo parlour and decided (sort of) that it was there that we would get our tattoo.. eventually.

anyway, we ended up buying tickets for the themeparks in 'Central Shopping Centre' at an information desk.

you used to be able to bargain the prices but now, its all sort of a 'not negotiable at all' zone.

we got tickets for Dreamworld+WhiteWaterWorld and the Fun Pass.

the Fun Pass is basically a one day access for all WB Movie World, Seaworld and Wet n Wild Waterworld over a 5 day span and costs only ~$150.

a little bit of a steal when each ticket for the parts cost about ~$60 to ~$70 each.

it being rainy and stuff, we couldnt really do that much so we ended up going to Infinity

Infinity is basically some kind of walk through maze thing that uses alot of effects to make it seem really futuristics - read: lots of mirrors and lights and stuff which makes it hard for you to find the door out to the next room which contains even MORE lights and mirrors -all the 'unique' special effects are kinda cool to make it seem a little unreal. The one thing that sort of freaked me out is this 'thing' that closes up on you which leads to the next room.

i think it works with some kind of pressure pad thing. when you step on it, the 'exit' closes up on you. which is really freaky when you see the exit and suddenly the exit is squishing you into the soft cushions of the wall.

eep! they also had dangling furry things that reminded me alot of hairy spider legs and it being dark and all. ugh.

yuck!

anyway, after that, we walked along the docks a little

my apparent zen tree

got tired after that and headed back to the apartment for some sleepy time before waking up and heading out for the Wicked thing.

i loved how they made everyone wear stickers 'somewhere noticeable' so that people wont hit on someone attached and stuff like that.

they had red stickers for the 'unavailables'. orange stickers for the 'hard to gets'. green stickers for the 'single and availables' and the blue stickers -my personal favorite- for 'horny'.

throughout the night i kept seeing men with heaps of blue stickers plastered over their shirts and .. it was sort of amusing.

free drinks from the clubs we went to and free entry can only keep zeke and i entertained for so long before we got bored and left..

for dinner at SEAFOOD MANIA again before heading back to an early night's rest.

whatever for, you ask.

easy.

dreamworld awaited us the next day.

why do people fear roller coasters when its basically perfectly safe?

my tattoo on the first day..can you see the bruising? eep. i swear, it looks more painful than it actually was after it was done.

day two.
the bruising basically *poofed* itself and if you're wondering why there's a sheen there.. its because i'd put bepanthen on it.

bepanthen being nappy rash cream.

HEY! THE TATTOOIST SAID TO PUT IT!

its on the care instructions!

anyway, i havent really taken any pictures of the tattoo since the second day but i can kinda talk you through the whole thing anyway :)

Day Three -

scabbing. and not the really horrible kind.

it was just a little annoying and a tad bit itchy but hey, tolerable.

the only annoying thing about the tattoo, for me anyway, was the position because sometimes when trying to wear the bra i'd accidentally rub against it and yeah..

Scabbing took a while to drop off - DO NOT PEEL THE SCABS EVEN THOUGH IT MIGHT SEEM FUN TO PEEL LETTERED SCABS OFF YOURSELF.

and on Sunday - DAY SIX..

all my scab fell off and now it looks awesome possum and sexy.

maybe pictures tomorrow?

uni's started and i've got an 8am class tomorrow and i'm tired but cant sleep and i'd just spent most of the night travelling to boxhill and visiting jeanette who has just gotten her appendix removed and..

sigh, knowing me, i always find ways to add complications in my life and right now, its just stupidity that keeps me hurting the person i love.

sadsad

Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old.

He battled the disease for years until this May, when doctors gave the 8 year old boy only a few weeks to live.

The family decided to try and help him achieve most of his goals before he would pass. And one of those was to marry his school sweetheart, Elleanor Purgslove.

Reece's mother said "When we found out that we only had a few weeks with him we tried to do absolutely everything with him that we could. Him and Ellie had been 'special friends' for a couple of years but then they broke up. We said we'd have a pirate party, and Ellie came. She went to visit Reece a few times in hospital as well."

Then during a recent laser tag party, Reece "proposed" to his little friend.

After she accepted, their parents arranged a pretend wedding at Reece's home

The families went out to dinner in the mayor's limousine and organized the wedding with rings and even a fictional certificate.

The kids got married on July 4th. And Reece told his mom, "I can go now," after his wedding wish had been fulfilled.

His mom added, "He was so proud of her, and we were proud of them both."

The following day after the wedding, Reece died at home with his family.

During the funeral, the mourners followed a horse-draw hearse on foot.

His mom added, "Even on the Saturday that he died, he got out of bed and walked to the sofa. He always tried walking, right to the end, so we thought if he walked for us then we would walk for him."

awwwhhh :(

funny funny

and i thought i handled my tattooing badly.

granted, mine took a while to do because i couldnt breathe when rob (my tattoo artist) was doing mine coz of the whole rib cage expanding thing.. and i had to ask for breaks because who wouldnt want breaks from holding their breath and having something that feels like a razor blade dragging along your skin
